Congratulations to our Lady Ironmen basketball team for coming up big at the NEO tournament! They beat Welch 49-23 and move forward in the winner's bracket to play tomorrow afternoon at 4:30pm!

Girls play today at noon at the college gym vs welch at NEO. Boys play tonight at 9:00 vs Fairland in the college gym also.
During the break, a pipe burst in the principal's office and caused some flooding to the main offices of the high school. Because of this the main doors will be closed and students must enter through the doors by the Superintendent's office and old gym.
Due to the continued cold temperatures and unsafe road conditions, Nowata Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 16th. All school activities are cancelled as well. Stay safe and warm.

Good afternoon, Folks. We’ve got some tricky weather patterns coming our way over the next few days, so I want to give you a heads up on what we are thinking. As of now, I don’t think tomorrow morning is going to be an issue. If we get more than what is expected, I will send out a text blast and make a Facebook post between 5:45 - 6:00am if we have to close school. We stand a better chance of having a distance learning day on Tuesday next week due to cold temperatures and/or snow. I should be able to make that decision by around 6:00pm on Monday evening so that you have more time to make childcare arrangements if needed. TS
Mrs. Scott's Zoology classes began their study of amphibians by examining the external anatomy of the frog....tomorrow they'll do the internal dissection!

We hope you are able to join us tonight in the middle school gym for our band and choir winter concert! We want you to be comfortable and enjoy the music, so you might want to bring a jacket or sweater tonight. Unfortunately, the heat is down in the gym, and we are still waiting on parts. Our maintenance man managed to work a little magic and got one heater up and running today, but we’re not sure how long it will last. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we know you won’t be disappointed if you are able to attend. The concert begins promptly at 7:00pm.

Mrs. Scott's Biology classes used DNA Gel Electrophoresis in order to perform a genetic analysis of cattle DNA! They were determining which cattle carried the gene that would allow for the production of milk with a higher casein percentage.
