Parents, your child should have brought home a report card and an Impact Aid form. The school needs this form to be signed and brought back ASAP. Please have your students bring the Impact Aid form back on Monday if they haven't already. Thank you for your support.
High School Red Ribbon Week will be next week!
Elementary Parents, beginning today, for after school pick up line, there will be 2 lanes open on Simpson until you come into the parking lot. We will begin funneling into one lane once you turn into the school off of Simpson. This is for the safety and protection of our students and staff. A staff member will be out in the road helping to direct traffic, please be patient and kind as we make these changes.
School Picture Day will be this Friday, October 20!!!
Today is a day to celebrate!! Jennifer Prince and her marching Ironmen are making history! It's been well over a decade since the marching band received straight superior ratings at the OSSAA Regional Marching Competition, but that drought ended yesterday as our band earned the highest ratings possible at the regional contest held in Oologah. Help us in celebrating and congratulating these young men and women who have worked tirelessly for their accomplishments this year. It's a proud day in Ironmen Nation!!
ALL Sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT next Tuesday Oct. 24.

A HUGE Congratulations to the Nowata Marching Ironmen for receiving a SUPERIOR Rating at OSSAA Regional Marching Contest. This is the first time since I have been the director at Nowata (past 13 years) that the band received a Superior at Regional MB Contest. I am so PROUD of all the hard work, dedication and commitment that has gone into this year. It is definitely a time to celebrate!!!
What a great way to close our competitive marching season!

Fall Break Football Tonight! Varsity game tonight! 7:00. Pink Out/Western night. So all you cowboys and cowgirls come out and if you've got pink boots, that's all the better!!
My wife and I are sitting in the airport waiting on our flight to Chicago to see our son and his family (okay... full disclosure... we're going to see our grandkids. Seeing everyone else in the house is just a collateral benefit). Anyway, I was scrolling Facebook, and I ran across this picture of Calvin and Hobbes. It made me smile because I imagine that's how staff and students all across Oklahoma feel today. Kids are going back to their owners until next week. I wish our staff and students a well-deserved fall break. Relax, laugh and play. Time is about the only thing we can't get back, so enjoy it while you can. See you soon, folks. ❤️
Mr. Fitzgerald's 8th grade Science classes enjoyed a science experiment in the lab today. Using a little heat and lemon juice, the students completed a "How does it work?" investigation about invisible ink!
Mrs. Scott's Biology classes performed an enzyme lab...they were learning which foods contain the enzyme catalase, by observing different classes of foods' reactions with hydrogen peroxide. The students loved it!
Mrs. Scott's Environmental Science class added their plants to the aquaponics system! They will introduce tilapia to the system after the water has cycled. The students are super excited to get it up and running!
Today we had guests come to Halley Hewitt’s 6th grade classroom. The students shared their modern day fairytales, they have written and illustrated! It was a great day, filled with learning and laughs!
Nowata Middle School has an opening for a paraprofessional. If interested, please contact Gina Thompson at (918)273-1346 or gthomp@npsok.org.
