Nowata Public School Patrons:
This school year will pose challenges in regard to dealing with COVID 19. At the time I am writing this, four area schools have had to close for a limited time due to Covid. Nowata Public Schools has had two students who proved to not be exposed but had to quarantine for short times while figuring out their situation. In short, it is likely at some point that schools will shut down for periods of time in order to deep clean which will interrupt school as well as athletics.
In an effort to honor our seniors as well as our military, veteran an active duty, we are going to have the Nowata Senior night and honor our military during the first game on 8-28-20 which happens to be against Oklahoma Union. Both teams will wear the military jerseys provided by the Oklahoma National Guard during the game. At halftime, we will ask all military to stand and be recognized. By having an abbreviated version of our military night, bands from both schools will have ample time to perform during halftime.
At 6:30pm, the Nowata Seniors will be recognized. Our football players will wear their Nowata uniforms for senior night and the military jerseys for the actual game.
We hope our efforts to continue the recognition of both our Seniors as well as our military in this every changing time is sufficient. We want everyone to know how much our Seniors an military mean to us.
On a similar note, we are hosting our homecoming game September 11th when we host the Vinita Hornets.
Thank you for your understanding
