Jazmyn Ortiz-Velez received a Superior Rating on her flute solo.
Nowata Percussion Ensemble received a Superior Rating on their event. (Addison Reese, Michael Prince, Brookie Morgan, Riley Branstetter and Shelby Webster.)
Laura Bailey and Jazmyn Ortiz-Velez received a Superior Rating on their Woodwind Duet.
Mason Miller received an Excellence Rating on his baritone solo.

Kalen Banuelos and Mason Greathouse received an Excellence Rating on their Brass Duet.
These kids have worked hard and represented Nowata well. I am super proud of them.

Tomorrow we will be conducting a mock car crash at the High School, put on by Nowata CAN and involving various members of the community (Police, Fire, EMS, Funeral Service, Courts, etc.). Students will learn about the dangers and consequences of impaired driving.
It is time to register for the Nowata Community Foundation Girls Basketball Camp! I have attached the flyer and they are also being delivered to your student's classroom today! **REMINDER**
Juniors will be taking the ACT Tuesday, April 9th. Please make sure students arrive to school by 8:00 in the morning prepared to test. They will be provided lunch after the test.
On April 9th, there will be a parent meeting for the incoming sixth grade students for the 2024-2025 school year. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm, in the commons area. We will discuss middle school schedules and athletic coaches, along with the band/choir director, will be available for questions, as well. Hope to see you there!
On Saturday May 4th the high school art club will be hosting a fundraiser evening of painting in the high school cafeteria from 6:30 - 8:30. The theme is Summer Sandals and Sun. Canvases are 16" x 20" and cost is $25. Funds aid students travel to Kansas City

Congratulations to the Nowata HS Band on a job well done at OSSAA State Band Festival. The band received a Rating of Good on the stage and a rating of Excellence in Sight Reading. I am super proud of these kiddos and all the hard work they have put into contest season.
